With the addition of the Ronin-S, we now offer a gimbal to match whatever weight class of camera you might need to stabilize. While it is officially slated in below the Ronin-M, there is some crossover, as the S has the motors to take a substantial DSLR sized camera, and it can get shots that the M cannot just by virtue of their design differences. The S is designed to be held with one hand, essentially like a large stick microphone. It comes with an extension that can be screwed onto the bottom, extending the handle and making two handed operation a little easier. That extension transforms into a mini tripod, letting you set the unit down on a flat surface. The handle also contains the unit’s battery, which recharges over USB-C (included) and lasts up to 12 hours. The motors can be controlled using the built-in joystick, allowing the very cool 360 degree roll (music video directors, take note). Screw a monopod onto the bottom and you can “fly” through tubes and long confined spaces. It enables some shots that would normally require a Technocrane.
