    Alternatives & Add-Ons:

Think of this camera as two fisheye lens GoPros back-to-back, recording a 5.7K “globe” of information around them.  The two camera signals are then stitched together.  At that point you can convert and post the “wrapped” video to Youtube where viewers can pick their view after the fact, or that stitched video can be unwrapped in editing software and you can pan around inside “the globe” and pick a view to focus on.  Since you are picking your frame from a 360º view, you can decide what aspect ratio that view should be: portrait, landscape or square.  Shoot one video and then re-crop and export different views for different social media services.  Being allowed to pick your frame of reference after the fact allows for incredible image stabilization and the ability to lock the horizon to be…..horizontal, no matter how you hold the camera.  The camera is waterproof down to 30 feet, and can be controlled using its small touchscreen, by voice or using a phone app.  It can do slomotion shots as well as something that Insta360 calls “Bullet Time” where the camera is spun around on a rope like a mace and the resulting revolving video is slowed down so you can look like Neo in The Matrix.  It also does Time Lapse effects.  We’ve equipped our camera with a Smallrig cage which has hotshoes for mounting accessories, and Smallrig has copied the GoPro two prong method of mounting the camera itself, allowing you to use mounting options you may already have.  The camera and software has been designed in such a way that you never actually see the body of the camera itself, and we include a selfie stick from Insta360 that is “erased” by artificial intelligence in the final 360º view.  Be aware that although you can work with the recorded video in editing software, you’ll need Insta360’s phone or iPad app to properly use the camera and conveniently work with the video it produces on location.
